Mogul cosmetics Kylie Jenner beats Mark Zuckerberg to become youngest self-made billionaire.
Kylie Jenner, 21, is the world’s youngest billionaire and also the youngest self-made billionaire ever, according to Forbes. Kylie is the youngest of the clan and has become the youngest billionaire in the world. According to the magazine, thanks to her booming cosmetic company she founded three years ago.
After debuting her Kylie Cosmetics in 2015 with just $29 lip kit containing matching lipstick and lipliner, Kylie, the half-sister of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, made it onto the annual Forbes list of billionaires.
“She’s the youngest-ever self-made billionaire, reaching a ten-figure fortune at a younger age than even Mark Zuckerberg [who was 23 when he hit that mark],” Forbes said.
“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future.
“But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back,” Ms Jenner told Forbes.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder ranks No. 2,057 on a list of 2,153. According to Forbes, last year the cosmetic company made an estimated $360 million in sales. Kylie owns 100% of the company and she also earns extra from brand endorsements and appearances on reality TV show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”. The major push to her company was the deal with Ulta Beauty Inc to put her products in all of the retailer’s 1,163 U.S. stores.
Pretty neat, right?
The richest person in the world remained Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos, whose net worth increased to $185 billion from $158 billion in 2018.
